Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to ALAYYA: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and ethical standards.

Submission and Initial Screening

1. Author Submission
   Manuscripts are submitted through the ALAYYA Online Journal System (OJS).

2. Initial Evaluation by Editor-in-Chief (7 days)
   The Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial screening to assess:

   • Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope

   • Originality and contribution

   • Plagiarism and similarity level

   • Compliance with the journal’s format and author guidelines

   Manuscripts that do not meet the aims and scope, lack originality, or show a similarity index above the journal’s threshold will be rejected or returned to the author for reformatting and resubmission.

Editorial Handling

3. Assignment to Section Editor (3-5 days)
   Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to a Section Editor for further handling.

Peer Review Process

4. Reviewer Invitation and Review (±14 days)
   The Section Editor invites at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise to conduct a double-blind peer review.

5. Review Outcomes
   Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the manuscript may be:

   • Accepted

   • Minor Revision

   • Major Revision

   • Rejected

6. Revision Stage

   • Minor Revision: Authors are given up to 3 weeks to revise the manuscript.

   • Major Revision: Authors are given 3–4 weeks to revise the manuscript.
     Revised manuscripts may be sent for a second or third round of review if necessary (±2 weeks per round).

Final Decision

7. Final Decision by Editor-in-Chief (±1 week)
   The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewers’ reports and the revised manuscript.

Production and Publication

8. Copyediting and Layout (±1 week)
   Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and layout preparation by the journal editorial office.

9. Author Proofreading (±1 week)
   Authors review proofs and submit final corrections along with copyright forms.

10. Final Publication (±1 week)
    The article is proofread, finalized, and published on the ALAYYA journal website.
