Publication Ethics 

ALAYYA: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini is firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal adheres to the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to act ethically, transparently, and responsibly to maintain the integrity of scholarly communication in the field of early childhood education.


1. Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated fairly and objectively based on their academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, and contribution to the field of early childhood education.

Editors must:

  • Make publication decisions without discrimination or bias.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and related communications.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential conflicts that may influence editorial judgment.

  • Ensure that unpublished materials are not used for personal research without the author’s written consent.

  • Address ethical issues and allegations of misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines and flowcharts.


2. Duties of Authors

Authors are expected to adhere to high standards of academic honesty and ethical research conduct.

Authors must:

  • Submit manuscripts that represent original work and are free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or redundant publication.

  • Properly acknowledge and cite all sources and references used in the manuscript.

  • Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and approve the final version of the manuscript.

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial, institutional, or personal.

  • Obtain ethical clearance and informed consent for studies involving human participants, surveys, interviews, or observational research.


3. Duties of Reviewers

Peer reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal.

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Conduct reviews objectively, constructively, and within the agreed timeframe.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the manuscripts under review.

  • Refrain from using unpublished information for personal advantage.

  • Inform the editor immediately of any conflicts of interest or substantial similarity between the reviewed manuscript and other published or submitted works.

  • Provide feedback that supports the improvement of the manuscript’s clarity, methodological rigor, and scholarly contribution.


4. Publisher’s Responsibilities

The publisher, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Institut Agama Islam Yasni Bungo, Indonesia, is committed to supporting ethical publishing practices and ensuring the sustainability of the journal.

The publisher:

  • Safeguards editorial independence from commercial, institutional, or political influence.

  • Works collaboratively with editors to address ethical issues, including plagiarism, data manipulation, or research misconduct.

  • Supports corrective actions such as corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in accordance with COPE procedures.

  • Promotes transparency, academic freedom, and inclusivity within the journal community.


5. Allegations of Misconduct

In cases where ethical misconduct is suspected or alleged—such as plagiarism, data fabrication, citation manipulation, or authorship disputes—the journal will conduct an investigation following COPE best practice guidelines.

  • Authors will be given the opportunity to respond to allegations.

  • Confirmed misconduct may result in rejection, retraction, or notification to relevant institutions.

  • All investigations will be handled confidentially, impartially, and fairly.


6. Research Ethics and Data Integrity

Authors are responsible for ensuring ethical standards in research involving human participants. In studies involving interviews, surveys, classroom observations, or human data, authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained and participants’ privacy and confidentiality were protected.

Research data should be accurately reported. Authors are encouraged to make data available upon reasonable request for verification and academic transparency.


7. Open Access and Copyright Policy

ALAYYA: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini is an open-access journal, providing immediate and free access to its content to support the global dissemination of scholarly knowledge.

Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). This license permits non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original author and source are properly cited.
