Dampak Kecanduan Bermain Game Online Terhadap Kualitas Komunikasi Antarpersonal Mahasiswa

This research aims to explain online games addiction of the students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and describe the quality of students’ interpersonal communication as well as to find out the effect of online games addiction on the quality of students’ interpersonal communication. This is a quantitative research with simple linear regression analysis method. The population and sample of the research were 70 students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This research also carried out non probability sampling that is purposive sampling technique. The data were obtained using Likert scale then analyzed descriptively using regression test and hypothesis test. The results show that: (1) the online games addiction of students is proven to be fair that is 52.9%, (2) the quality of interpersonal communication of students is proven to be good that is 51.4%, (3) the effects of online games addiction on the quality of interpersonal communication is 0.0028 that is smaller than 0.05 meaning that there is an effect of the addiction of playing online games on the quality of interpersonal communication.
