Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

We welcome to the academic articles to the professional needs of both the Islamic communication scholars and practitioners. The journal helps encourage in disseminating empirical and theoretical research findings, developing theory, and introducing new concepts related to Islamic oration and sermon, Islamic Journalism, mediated-da'wah and religious film, Islamic communication-related studies to its readership. The submissions should be in accordance with the following guidelines:

1. Articles are written in Indonesian, Arabic or English (preferable) using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition.

2. Articles must be scholarly original engage academic discussion of topics in the field.

3. The articles have not been published or considered for publication in the other journals or other media.

4. Written in MS Word format, and submitted in soft copy or via email at: alnabajournal@iaiyasnibungo.ac.id by using a file attachment.

5. The length of the manuscript is approximately about 22 pages, no less than 15 pages, written in Times New Roman 12, A4 paper format, margins: top 2.5; left 2.5; right 2.5; bottom 2.5, one-half spaced.

6. Articles should be in form of essay which includes:

  • Tittle.
  • Author’s name (without academic degree), affiliation and e-mail.
  • Abstract in English, Arabic and Indonesian (150-250 words for each) which includes research problems, theory which relates the problems, methods, results and conclusion.
  • Keywords in English,Arabic and Indonesian (3-7 words).
  • Articles include introduction, literature reviews/ theoretical construct (if needed) of the research, conclusion.
  • Research methods describes the rationale for the application of spesific procedures or techniques used to identify, select, and analyze information applied to understanding the research problem.
  • Discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work.
  • Conclusion should answer the objectives of research.
  • References.
  • Pages is written on the right top.
  • Footnotes is used to give additional information, which may include the citation of a reference included in the reference list.

7. All articles should be prepared according to the following author guidelines in the Microsoft Word article template. Paper tamplate can be download here.

Footnote:

  • When a source is cited for the first time, full information is provided: full name(s) of author(s), title of the source in italic, and write into brackets place of publication, publishing company, and date of publication, and then the precise page that is cited.
  • For the following citations of the same source, list the full name(s) of author(s), two or three words of the title, three full stops and comma, and then the specific page number(s). The word ibid. may be used, but op.cit., and loc.cit. are not.

The translitaration system of Library of Congress (LC) and Department of Religious Affairs of Indonesia:

For

madd and diphthongs :

Examples:

The person's name is written in Indonesian without transliteration.

Example:

al-Syahrastani, not as-Syahrastâni, written as usual and not italic.

For the foreign terms are not entered into the Indonesian language, written as the original and italics, instead of the underscore.

Example: al-qawâid al-fiqhiyyah; isyrâqiyyah; ‘urwah al-wutsqâ

While foreign terms that have been popular and entry into the Indonesian language, written in plain, without transliteration.

Example: al-Qur’an, not al-Qur’ân; objektif, not objektive.

The title of the book is written as the original and italics.

It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or licence the publication rights in their articles to AL-NABA' : Da'wa and Islamic Communication Journal. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
