AN-NABA: Islamic Communication Journal is firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical scholarly publishing.
All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical standards and act responsibly in order to preserve the integrity of scholarly communication in Islamic communication, dakwah, media, and broadcasting studies.
Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts fairly and objectively based on their academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and contribution to the field.
Editorial decisions must be made without discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, or political orientation.
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal research without the written consent of the authors.
Editors are required to disclose and manage any potential conflicts of interest that could influence editorial judgment.
In cases of ethical concerns or alleged misconduct, editors will act in accordance with COPE guidelines and flowcharts to ensure fairness, transparency, and due process.
Authors are expected to uphold principles of academic honesty and ethical research conduct in the preparation and submission of manuscripts.
Submitted manuscripts must be original works and must not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or redundant publication.
Authors must properly cite and acknowledge all sources and references that have influenced their work.
All listed authors should have made significant scholarly contributions to the research and must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
Any potential conflicts of interest—financial, institutional, or personal—must be clearly disclosed.
For studies involving human participants, interviews, surveys, or community-based research, authors must ensure that ethical clearance and informed consent have been obtained where applicable.
Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of the journal.
Reviewers are expected to conduct reviews objectively, constructively, and within the agreed timeframe.
Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality and must not use unpublished materials disclosed in manuscripts for personal or professional advantage.
Any potential conflicts of interest or substantial similarity between the reviewed manuscript and other published or submitted works must be reported to the editor immediately.
Reviewer feedback should aim to improve the clarity, methodological rigor, and scholarly contribution of the manuscript.
The publisher, Institut Agama Islam Yasni Bungo, Indonesia, supports the editorial team in maintaining high ethical and academic standards.
The publisher ensures editorial independence and does not interfere with editorial decisions for commercial, political, or institutional reasons.
In cases of ethical violations such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or authorship disputes, the publisher collaborates with editors to take appropriate corrective actions, including the publication of corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, in accordance with COPE procedures.
The publisher promotes transparency, inclusivity, and academic freedom within the journal’s scholarly community.
When allegations of ethical misconduct arise—including plagiarism, citation manipulation, data fabrication, falsification, or authorship disputes—the journal will initiate an investigation guided by COPE best practice flowcharts.
Authors will be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
Confirmed misconduct may result in actions such as manuscript rejection, article retraction, or notification to relevant institutions.
All investigations will be conducted confidentially, impartially, and respectfully toward all parties involved.
Authors are responsible for ensuring ethical research practices and the integrity of data presented in their manuscripts.
For research involving interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies, or community engagement, authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained and participants’ privacy and anonymity were protected.
Data, images, and materials must be accurately represented. Authors are encouraged to provide data for verification upon reasonable academic request.
